Terry O'Halloran is an Independent Financial Adviser with over 30 years experience in the industry.
He established his practice in Lincoln in 1970 and it has steadily grown since then.
Early in his career he realised that there was a serious need for non-American books that were both easy to read and understand.
His first venture - 'You Sign a Little Cheque We Sign a Big One' - was so successful that very quickly this was updated to 'You Sign', published by Witherby’s of London..
Soon other professionals began to experience and benefit from the writings of Terry O'Halloran and it was not long before he undertook his next venture, 'Mountains Out Of Molehills', for communicating technical concepts on an A4 sheet.
Terry made full use of his experience and this can be seen by his prolific use of actual cases. With 'Mountains Out Of Molehills' a partnership was formed with the illustrator Bob Lole and so was born the family of Lole's Moles - characters used throughout the book to make the reading and understanding much easier.
More recent publications are:
'Stakeholder Pensions - A Practical Guide', the definitive discussion of this particular government initiative, and:
'Trusts - A Practical Guide', an acknowledged 'Must Have' volume for anyone needing guidance on the intricacies of trusts as used in financial planning for family and business purposes. The book is also in C.D. format for easy reference whilst travelling (7 C.D.s)
'If Only Politicians Had Brains', sets out to highlight some of the more bizarre, disastrous or plain ineffectual decisions that rule all of our lives - another great hit with his readers. More details of all the books can be found at Lifepublications own web site.
Terry is a great believer in the benefits of operating a fee based practice rather than follow the contentious route of commission based sales. The argument of 'Fees vs. Commission' is an on-going saga within the financial services profession and among various consumer groups. In his most ambitious project to date, Terry has compiled a complete package designed to enable financial service professionals (and others) to set up their own fees based business administration system.
Fee-PacTM comes complete with full instructions (including 4 DVDs and a CD of the documentation) and all the forms, contracts and documentation necessary to set up a complete fee based practice (including how to deal with commissions, when used as fees in another form).
The latest book “Building a Business on Bacon and Eggs” co authored with Andy Lopata and Steven Harvard Davis, is a must have for any entrepreneur. It is the definitive "How to Run and Grow Your Business Efficiently" guide. Work by three “’Good Eggs’ that really do bring home the bacon”
A gifted public speaker and lecturer, Terry has presented seminars and workshops to a wide range of specialist and "lay" audiences around the world. He has also been a main platform speaker at the annual conferences of the Life Insurance Association (LIA) and Insurance Institutes.
